FOREWORD: Dan “the sandal man” is exclusively trimming away in Golden, Colorado, so his ask was to have something iconic to represent the town. He’s a chill dude, so he also was looking for something more free-formed instead of a structured, corporate look.
SETTING: This logo is what I’d like to call a triple entendre. Golden’s iconic Mount Zion and Lookout Road are the focal point. They resemble a tree and trunk. The trunk of tree also winds below like Clear Creek. The art is framed with a slice of a tree trunk, with one ring resembling the sun.
“Dan who was a regular came to me while I was slinging beers at my part-time job at Mountain Toad Brewing and asked me to brand for his business. After getting to know him more over a couple Belgian Wits (his favorite style of beer), I designed one of my favorite logos to this day. We had a blast!”
